It's The Most Wonderful Time of the Year!!

It really is the most wonderful time of the year! I LOVE trying new things and in the last month have had the opportunity to try some new recipes, hear some new music, meet some new people, try some new restaurants, and discover some events in the area I wasn't aware of before.

I visited Life in Letters at The Greene (www.lifeinlettersgallery.com) to purchase a Christmas present for someone this year.  I have always thought the letter art was neat looking and when I saw a Groupon I couldn't resist the opportunity to try it out!  I beat most of the Christmas rush by going at the very beginning of the month.  I went in as a novice a little unsure of what I was doing but the store's employee was very helpful in guiding me through the steps but also giving me plenty of space to make artistic decisions.  I didn't realize how many decisions I would need to make between the actual letters, matting, framing, and sizes.  The art was finished within 8 days and I was very pleased with how it turned out.  I am definately excited for my next opportunity to visit this local business again.

At one of the Christmas parties I attended we played a game called, "What would you do if?"

In a circle each person has a piece of paper and a pen.  After picking a theme each person finishes the question "What would you do if?" keeping in line with the theme.  Each person then passes their piece of paper with the question on it to the person next to them.  They take that question and write down how they would respond.  Once everyone has written a response, it's time to share with the rest of the group.  However this is where it gets fun.  Person one reads their question but the person next to them reads their answer so the question and answer don't actually match up! (are you following? sometimes it's easier to see it done or participate) We ended up playing multiple rounds of this game and had plenty of laughs.

Let me know if you try any of these experiences or if you have suggestions for things/places I need to try.

I did a letter's picture as well for Christmas this year. I was never able to find a store around here that was decently priced but I was able to get online and purchase a cd with over 400 letter's, formats, and other designs on it. I now own the copyright for those letters and was able to have them printed at a local store. I love how it turned out and can't wait to see the response from my sister.

Now you'll be able to make all kinds of gifts with those letters! Was the cd very expensive to purchase? I hope your sister loved her picture. I got a text from the receiver of my gift and they loved it! :-)
